Phone Operator and Scheduling Coordinator - FT - 1st Shift

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is currently seeking a Phone Operator and Scheduling Coordinator to join our team in our Cincinnati, Ohio practice.  We are seeking an individual that is team oriented and has excellent communication skills with fellow colleagues, clients and the referral community.  The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced environment and is dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care.   The recruited candidate will combine teamwork, leadership and compassion to develop client relationships.

The MedVet team provides expert specialized care in areas including anesthesiology, cardiology, dermatology, emergency and critical care, integrative medicine, internal medicine, interventional radiology, medical oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, radiation oncology, radiology, rehabilitative services, and surgical services. 


  • Answer a large volume of incoming calls in a prompt, polite, and professional manner.
  • Effectively and efficiently screen and transfer calls.
  • Minimize hold time and check in with clients consistently.
  • Work in a professional manner with all departments.
  • Schedule appointments for specialty departments.
  • Call clients to confirm appointments & drop-offs for the next day.
  • Fax referral letters.
  • Fax prescription refill requests.
  • Call for referral information on new patient appointments.
  • Coordinate and schedule all staff and doctor meetings.

  • General computer competency required including Microsoft word and excel. 
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs. 

Education and Experience:

  • Three years of experience in a high volume front desk or call center. 
  • Experienced with multi-line telephone system.
  • Previous experience in veterinary setting preferred.
  • HS Diploma or GED required.

Shift:  The position is full time. Specific work hours to be determined based on assignment and needs of the departments. Primarily 1st shift, weekend and holiday coverage required.
