Medvet Chicago is seeking a full-time board certified or board eligible Veterinary Neurologist/Neurosurgeon to join our specialty practice consisting of 3 board-certified veterinary neurologists. Located near the vibrant Lincoln Park area, affluent Gold Coast, and fun-filled Wrigleyville neighborhoods of Chicago, Medvet Chicago provides a broad array of 24-hour emergency, critical care and specialty care in cardiology, dentistry, dermatology, internal medicine, oncology, ophthalmology, radiology, radiation therapy, rehabilitation, and soft tissue and orthopedic surgery that serves over 750 referral partner hospitals.
Our facilities are located in Chicago and Northbrook, Illinois, to include a Philips 1.5 Tesla and a 1.0 Tesla MRI scanners with digital monitoring and patient ventilator capability at separate locations, GE helical quad-slice CT scanner, multiple digital radiology suites with Efilm, a well-equipped intensive care facility with 24/7 care, and 3 dedicated neurosurgery suites. Specialized equipment includes a Nihon-Kodon 4 channel EMG/NCV/EP unit, NC1 Zeiss neurosurgery operating microscope, patient ventilators, Bio-plate cranial and spinal fracture repair kits, equipment for ventricular shunt placement, and CUSA EXcel ultrasonic aspirator. A dedicated, experienced team of certified veterinary technicians is available to assist for medical and surgical cases, as well as dedicated MRI technicians and a clinical trials coordinator for clinical research studies.
You will be joining a well-established Neurology and Neurosurgery practice service that manages all medical and surgical neurologic cases presented to the hospital. Our cumulative experience of over 40 years covers all aspects of neurosurgery. Immediate plans are in place for linear accelerator with IMRT (intensity modulated radiation therapy) and stereotactic radiosurgery capability under the direction of a board certified radiation oncologist for advanced treatment of many CNS neoplasms. Clinical research opportunities exist with the Neurosurgery Department at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
