Radiation Oncology Scheduling Coordinator/Animal Aide - FT - 1st Shift

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is currently seeking a Scheduling Coordinator/Animal Aide to join our Radiation Oncology team in our Columbus, Ohio practice.  We are seeking an individual that is team oriented and has excellent communication skills with fellow colleagues, clients and the referral community.  The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced environment and is dedicated to delivering the highest quality of care.   The recruited candidate will combine teamwork, leadership and compassion to develop client relationships.

The MedVet team provides expert specialized care in areas including anesthesiology, cardiology, dermatology, emergency and critical care, integrative medicine, internal medicine, interventional radiology, medical oncology, neurology, ophthalmology, radiation oncology, radiology, rehabilitative services, and surgical services. 


  • Check and log voicemails.
  • Answer and respond to all phone calls from clients, referral partners and Pharmacies, log all conversations.
  • Answer incoming calls as back up to the switchboard coordinator.
  • Schedule appointments for all departments.
  • Call for referral information on new patient appointments.
  • Coordinate and schedule all staff and doctor meetings.
  • Check for faxes at the front desk and the communication center.
  • Fill all non-controlled medications for patients.
  • Call in all prescription refills.
  • Organize papers in hard charts.
  • File hard charts and loose papers.
  • Fax referral letters.
  • Fax prescription refill requests.
  • Make copies if needed: Client handouts, cage sheet change forms.
  • Call clients to remind of appointments & drop-offs for the next day.
  • Monitor supplies and order as needed for the department.
  • Clean and stock as needed.
  • Ensure patients receive quality care.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Manage appointments: obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.
  • Assist in procedures: preparation of patients, instruments equipment and medications. 
  • Intake of patients for morning drop-off appointments for the hospital.

  • General computer competency required including Microsoft word and excel.
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs. 
  • Prior veterinary experience required.

All candidates must complete an acceptable background check, including references and a pre-employment drug test.

Shift:  The position is full time, first shift hours including rotational weekend and holiday coverage as needed.
