Specialty Manager Registered Veterinary Technician

MedVet is currently seeking a Specialty Clinical Manager Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team in our Indianapolis, IN hospital.  We are seeking an individual that is team oriented; thrives in a fast paced environment; and is dedicated to practicing the highest quality of veterinary care.   The position provides an opportunity to work with board certified specialists and the ability to learn about cutting-edge veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and manage the daily flow of services.
  • Develop and monitor staff schedules.
  • Ensure patients receive quality care.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Collaborate with team mentors to ensure proper onboarding of new team members.
  • Work closely with management regarding personnel, staffing, or clinical challenges.
  • Participate in HR processes included but not limited to:
  • Interviewing and hiring process
    • Termination
    • Conflict management
    • Grievances
    • Disciplinary action 
    • Perform initial screening of client and Referral Partner concerns.
  • Ability to drive the service and client service process.
  • Ability to prioritize caseload and patient care.
  • Ensure patients receive quality care.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Manage appointments: obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc.
  • Assist in procedures: preparation of patients, instruments, equipment and medications. 

Qualifications: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent client service skills and phone etiquette.
  • Ability to inspire, teach, multitask and be a highly functional team member.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Work successfully as a team member and autonomously.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Effective patient restraint.
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.).
  • Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior veterinary experience required.
  • Required Bachelor’s or Associates degree in Animal Sciences, Veterinary Technology or a related field. 
  • Licensed/Registered/Certified Veterinary Technician required.

Shift:  The position requires a minimum of 30 clinical hours a week with the remainder of the time spent on administrative duties. Specific work hours to be determined based on assignment and needs of the departments. Rotating on call schedule for weekends & Holidays.
