Facilities Maintenance Technician

MedVet is currently seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team.  The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing repairs and overall maintenance of MedVet’s facilities and grounds in a clean, safe and presentable manner. This position is based out of our Akron hospital with responsibilities for 4 MedVet facilities in NE Ohio (Akron, Brook Park(Cleveland-West), Mentor and Girard).

  • Performs routine and preventative maintenance to ensure the building is in good condition allowing machines and equipment to run smoothly, building systems to operate efficiently, and to ensure the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate
  • Completes work orders and other tasks in an efficient and timely manner
  • Operates a safe, clean and efficient work area where equipment can be repaired in a timely manner
  • Ensures all OSHA safety rules and procedures are followed
  • Performs tasks associated with heights up to and including 30 feet and confined spaces
  • Travel between MedVet locations as required
  • Complies with MRI safety when entering the MRI suite and ensures accompanying service providers are in compliance as well
  • Attends mandatory training


  • Plumbing, HVAC, and/or electrical experience preferred
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule as needed for scheduled site maintenance services
  • 50% travel required between MedVet locations in NE Ohio.

Shift:  The position is full time. Weekends, on-call and holidays based on needs of the department.
